Visiting the grave of Sayyid Arouz and dedicating offerings to him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16105 )
Q2: A group of people visit the mosque of a wali (close friend of Allah) called ( Sayyid Arouz ), and they seek nearness to him with some gifts, including blankets
and candles (and the like), and they also slaughter animals. This is based on their belief that this wali conveys their supplications to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). When we inquired about this belief, they said: During the French colonization of Algeria , the French forces bombarded this mosque with artillery shells, but they were unable to destroy it; rather, the shells were returned to them, and a number of the French died. We ask for clarification of the religion’s position on this.

A2 : Visiting the graves of the awliya (close friends of Allah) with the intention of seeking blessing from them and seeking nearness to them by asking them to fulfill one’s needs is a visit that involves shirk (associating partners with Allah) and is not permissible. Whoever does this in this manner is one who associates partners with Allah; because he has directed worship to other than Allah. And Allah the Exalted said:
so do not invoke with Allah anyone.فَلا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا
[Al-Jinn 72:18]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
