The fifth question of the fatwa number ( 20844 )
Q 5: Some people, when they or one of their relatives is struck by the evil eye or a disease from which they despair, say that a grave should be dug for him and he will be healed by the permission of Allah. Does this have a basis in the Shari'ah? And if it does not, does the one who digs the grave for this purpose commit a sin? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you.
A 5 : Digging a grave for one who has the evil eye or a disease for the purpose of seeking healing through it has no basis in the pure Shari'ah; rather, it is a superstition that must be abandoned and warned against. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
