The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6299 )
Q4: I swore not to smoke, but Satan blinded me and I smoked What should I do?
A4: If you swore to that by Allah or by one of His attributes, you must pay the expiation for an oath, which is: feeding ten poor people from the mid-grade of what you feed your family, or clothing them, or freeing a slave, and it is better if the slave is a believer. If you cannot do so, fast for three days. You must also repent and seek forgiveness for smoking, for it is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
