The ruling on placing edible food in the waste
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17467 )
Q 2: Sometimes residents of houses take out some of their waste, and it contains food. When the sanitation workers pass by, they collect this food along with the rest of the waste, and it may contain impurities. What is your guidance for the citizens and the officials in the municipalities? It would be desirable if your guidance reached them, may Allah preserve you, and may Islam and the Muslims benefit from you?
A2 : It is not permissible to place food that is fit for eating in the waste,
but rather it should be kept for use, even if it is fed to animals; because placing it in the waste involves degrading the blessing and wasting wealth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
