Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 4271 )
Q1: Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good, about the ruling on a man who committed the heinous act of unlawful sexual intercourse, then repented but was unable to complete his repentance. After he got married, he found that he no longer inclined toward unlawful sexual intercourse as he had before. He wants to renew his repentance but does not know whether it will be accepted or not?
A1: One who commits the heinous act of unlawful sexual intercourse and then repents from it but is unable to complete his repentance, rather he returns to it, and after he gets married he finds that he no longer inclines toward unlawful sexual intercourse as he did before, and he purifies his repentance—then it is accepted if its conditions are met. The conditions of repentance from the rights of Allah are three: acknowledging the sin, feeling remorse for the act out of reverence for Allah and sincerity to Him, and resolving not to return to it. The conditions of repentance from the rights of creation are four: the three mentioned, and the fourth is returning the right to its owner as much as one is able to do so and seeking his forgiveness. We remind you of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Tahrim 66:8] the verse from Surat al-Tahrim, and His saying the Exalted:
[Al-Furqan 25:68-70] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.
(68) And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - (70) Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
