It is preferable to rely on reliable books of dhikr

Fatwa number ( 20208 )
Q: I am a Muslim citizen who prefers to fill my free time with reading the Qur'an, the remembrance of Allah, and sending blessings upon His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). At first, I was
collecting dhikr and supplications from various books and practicing them, such as (Al-Adhkar al-Nawawiyyah) and (Amal al-Yawm wa al-Laylah), until I met a man who claimed to have narrated awrad (daily recitations) established by a righteous wali, al-Hayy ibn Ibrahim al-Dasouqi, the founder of (al-Tariqah al-Barhaniyyah al-Dasouqiyyah al-Shadhiliyyah). His argument was that it is not permissible to take awrad from books, but rather from a safe hand; because you might make a mistake in placing the awrad in their proper place and time. I am hesitant to perform them. I want a Shari'ah ruling. May Allah reward you for Islam with good.

A: You should rely on the reliable books of dhikr written by trustworthy scholars, such as (Al-Adhkar) by Imam al-Nawawi , (Al-Wabil al-Sayyib min al-Kalim al-Tayyib) by Ibn al-Qayyim , and (Al-Kalim al-Tayyib) by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah . As for the dhikr established by the leaders of the Sufis , the general rule is that they contain dhikr that is not prescribed, or dhikr involving shirk (associating partners with Allah), such as tawassul (seeking nearness to Allah through a means) through created beings, or seeking their help other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The claim that it is not permissible to take awrad from books but rather from safe hands is a false statement; because dhikr is taken from the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and from the books of authentic hadiths. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
