The sixth question of the fatwa number ( 12228 )
Q6. What is the ruling on a brother kissing his brother in Allah on the face , and what is the ruling on the reports from the Companions regarding this?
A6: It is better to limit oneself to shaking hands in ordinary meetings, unless one has returned from a journey, in which case there is no harm in embracing; due to the statement of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): (The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when they met, would shake hands, and when they returned from a journey, they would embrace). It was narrated by al-Tabarani with a good chain of narration.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
