Medical certificates that a Muslim obtains from a doctor to justify his absence from work

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 5377 )
Q7: What is the ruling on medical certificates that a Muslim obtains from a doctor to justify his absence from work due to illness , when in fact he only obtained that certificate to cover his absence to visit his family in Tunisia and Algeria , and if he does not present this certificate, his excuse is not accepted, he is dismissed from his job, and his salary is deducted?
A7: The ruling on these certificates is that they are forbidden; because they are lying and forgery. Allah the Exalted said:
So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement,فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِ
[Al-Hajj 22:30]
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Shall I inform you of the greatest of the major sins? — three times — Associating partners with Allah, and undutifulness to parents. The narrator said: He was reclining, so he sat up and said: And saying what is false, and giving false testimony. He kept repeating it until we said, if only he would have been silent.
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
