The employee who engages in buying and selling during official working hours

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The twelfth question of Fatwa No. ( 19637 )
Q 12: What is the ruling on employees who are required to maintain official working hours and leave during those hours to engage in buying and selling without permission?
A 12: It is not permissible for an employee to leave his work to buy and sell, whether or not he has permission from his supervisor; because this involves disobeying the authorities who have prohibited it, and because it leads to the waste of the work for which he was entrusted, resulting in the loss of the rights of the Muslims who depend on his work,
And the failure to perform it in the most complete manner. Abu Ya'la and al-'Asqari narrated from 'A'ishah , raising it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:
Indeed, Allah loves that when one of you does a job, he should do it with excellenceإن الله يحب إذا عمل أحدكم عملاً أن يتقنه
. And al-Bayhaqi and al-Tabarani reported something similar. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
