Receiving a remote student allowance designated for those who come from a distant location

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17001 )
Q2: When I was a student, I used to receive a remote student allowance because I came from my hometown, which is about 15 km from the town where the school is located. I proved this with a certificate, as there was no one to support me in the town where the school is located. However, I altered the
distance when we were asked to do so by the responsible authority. Instead of 15 km, I changed it to 22 km. What is the ruling on this, given that, as I mentioned earlier, I am 15 km away from this town, and there is no one to support me there?

A2: This action you mentioned is not permissible; because it is lying and forbidden deception. It is obligatory for you to give in charity the money you took through this means, along with repenting to Allah and not returning to such an action. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
