The children who were raised on their father's unlawful earnings

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 3272 )
Q1: What is the religious ruling regarding the children who were raised on their father's unlawful earnings?
A1 : It is not permissible for a father to raise his children on unlawful earnings, and this is known to the questioner. As for the children, they bear no sin in this matter; the sin lies solely with their father. If the entire estate is from theft, it is obligatory for the heirs to return the stolen property to its owners, if they are known. If they are unknown, it is obligatory to spend that money on charitable causes, such as building mosques and giving charity to the poor, with the intention of doing so on behalf of the owner of the stolen property. The same ruling applies if part of the estate is from theft and part is from the grandfather's lawful wealth; the heirs must return the amount corresponding to the theft to its owners if they are known, or otherwise it is obligatory to spend it on charitable causes as mentioned above. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
