A father eating from his son’s unlawful earnings
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 11114 )
Q: What is the ruling of the religion regarding a man who has two adult sons, each of whom lives with his wife and children on his own expenses? One of them is in a state of poverty, and the other is wealthy. It is said that his wealth comes from narcotics that this son found on the shore of the salt sea a long time ago. On some occasions, the two sons invite their father to eat at their homes, but the father feels suspicious about eating the food of the wealthy son,
and he wants a fatwa on this matter.
A: If all of the son’s earnings are haram (forbidden), then it is not permissible for the father to consume anything from them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
