Mixed work between men and women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 15562 )
Q1: I work under the Ministry of Interior, in the Special Security Forces sector. We have been tasked with providing security for aircraft. We travel outside the Kingdom, and we may stay in some countries for days. Upon our return at the airport, we search passengers to prevent weapons or explosives from being brought onto the plane. However, in this job there is a great trial, and perhaps we ride in the same bus as the flight attendants when we go from the airport terminal to the plane, or from the plane to the hotel. Question: What is your opinion, Your Eminence, regarding this work of ours, and what do you advise us?
A1: There is no doubt that mixed work between men and women involves a great trial, and what you mentioned about mixing with the flight attendants in the buses when you go to the plane or from the plane to the hotel involves a great trial. It is obligatory for you, in the face of this trial, to take what protects you from it, namely by demanding a bus exclusively for you and a bus exclusively for the flight attendants, in order to avert the trial. The officials, if Allah wills, will not prevent what is in the public interest, but this requires drawing the attention of the officials. So be a cause of good in this important matter. In fact, you must advise the officials to dispense with women generally and employ male flight attendants. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
