Setting specific days for performing certain acts of worship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17776 )
Q1: O our father (may Allah preserve you): We are young students of knowledge, and we have, praise be to Allah, scholarly lessons from the book *Fath al-Mujid fi Sharh Kitab al-Tawhid* and fiqh lessons from *Subul al-Salam Sharh Bulugh al-Maram*. However, we have a certain kind of lethargy, and one of the brothers suggested—we consider him knowledgeable and we do not praise anyone beyond what is apparent, and we trust in his knowledge—that we set aside specific days each week for standing in night prayer, and things like: visiting graves, fasting, visiting the sick, and so on. Whoever falls short and does not perform these acts must pay a sum of money. Some of the young men agreed with this opinion, while others did not agree until they research and ask the scholars whose knowledge is trusted. We ask you to inform us about this.
A : The suggestion you mentioned is incorrect, and it is not permissible to commit to it; because there is no evidence for it from the Book or the Sunnah, and taking money because of it is not lawful. Whoever wants to do good, he should do it without committing to this suggestion. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
