Q: What is the meaning of the hadith in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 1378
A: The compilers of the Sunan collections reported from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)
He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 1378, and the meaning of the hadith is that whoever qualifies his oath with the will of Allah the Exalted, the oath is not established. So if he swears to do something and makes this exception but does not do that thing, there is no expiation upon him. Likewise, if he swears to leave something and makes this exception in his speech and then does it, there is no expiation upon him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
