Patience, Fatwa No. ( 17750 )
Q: In al-Bukhari it is narrated: Abdullah ibn Yusuf narrated to us, al-Layth said: Ibn al-Had narrated to me from Amr, the freed slave of al-Muttab, from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Allah said, 'If I deprive my slave of his two beloved things (i.e., his eyes) and he remains patient, I will let him enter Paradise in compensation for them.'"إن الله تعالى قال: إذا ابتليت عبدي بحبيبتيه فصبر عوضته منهما الجنة
Sahih al-Bukhari 5653
meaning his eyes. Ash'ath ibn Jabir and Abu Dhallal followed him from Anas from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So, your brother in Allah: I was struck in my right eye by a pebble in 1985 CE, and I was 11 years old, so I no longer see anything with it, but I ask: Will Allah compensate me for it with Paradise, even though I can see with the other (left) eye, and praise be to Allah, or is this merit and good reward limited only to those who have lost and been afflicted in both of their eyes?

A : What has befallen you in your right eye is undoubtedly a calamity, so know that it is from Allah, so be patient and seek reward, and hope for the reward from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and we hope that Allah will not deprive you of the reward, even though the apparent wording of the hadith specifies that it is for the one whose two eyes are afflicted, because that is more severe. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
