Medicines and sweets containing a small percentage of alcohol
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q 40: Some medicines or sweets sold in the markets contain a small percentage of alcohol . Is it permissible to eat them? Knowing that if a person eats of these sweets and drinks them, he will never reach the state of intoxication
A 40 : If the presence of alcohol in the sweets or medicines is in a very small percentage such that eating or drinking a large amount of them does not cause intoxication; then it is permissible to consume and sell them; because they will not have any effect on the taste, color, or smell; due to their transformation into a pure, permissible substance. However, it is not permissible for a Muslim to manufacture any of that, nor to put it in the food of Muslims, nor to assist in it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
