Q: My wife (F. M.) has not been blessed by Allah with pregnancy until now. After medical examinations, we learned that the method Allah has made easy for her at present is to take or buy eggs from another woman via the test-tube method, then place them in her so that she may carry them, if Allah wills, with sperm from me. O honorable scholar: Our hope in His mercy (Glorified and Exalted is He) upon us is great, but we turn to your eminence, after Allah, to issue the ruling of the Shari'ah on this matter, so that it may be presented to the officials of the medical authority to be acted upon. May Allah bless you and make you guides who are guided.
A: It is not permissible to take eggs from a woman via the test-tube method and place them in your wife's womb; because the eggs taken from a foreign woman or bought from her are not permissible to be injected into anyone else. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
