Beware of what contains any of the forbidden things

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 18457 )
Q1: The gates of forbidden things are many, and Allah and His Messenger have forbidden us many matters, some of which are clear and others are difficult to distinguish except by the people of knowledge. Therefore, we thought it best to write and present the topic to you, and we await your answer. There are many forbidden things that Muslims in the West take lightly. We may enter a shop and see a young man from an Islamic country, or a woman wearing the hijab, buying anything as long as it is not pork meat or intoxicants. They do not think about the fine details, because they lived in an environment that does not attempt a precise search into the hidden aspects of things, so that life does not become difficult for them as they believe, or because he does not attempt it himself due to the weakness of his religious conscience.
A1: It is obligatory to be cautious of what contains any of these forbidden things, and the Muslim should be scrupulous regarding his religion, especially if he is in the lands of disbelief. What the Muslims you mentioned are doing is an error, and it is obligatory for you to advise them and make clear to them what is hidden from them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah?' he said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common folkالدين النصيحة، قيل: لمن يا رسول الله؟ قال: لله، ولكتابه، ولرسوله، ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam)
. It was narrated by Muslim from the hadith of Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith.من رأى منكم منكرًا فليغيره بيده، فإن لم يستطع فبلسانه، فإن لم يستطع فبقلبه، وذلك أضعف الإيمان
Sahih Muslim 49a
.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
