A listener from Morocco who did not give her name, but said: A listener from Morocco. Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings. We were delighted with your program, Light on the Path, and we hope that the Most High, the Almighty, will spread this program to the entire Muslim community, as we have benefited greatly from it, and we hope that others will benefit from it in their religion and worldly affairs, and we wanted to be among the correspondents for this program.
I ask the first question, if you would be so kind: I performed the obligatory Hajj without a mahram. What is the ruling on my Hajj?
Answer: The Hajj is valid, and praise be to Allah, and the obligation has been fulfilled by it. We ask Allah to accept it from you. However, you erred in performing Hajj without a mahram, so you must repent to Allah for that, seek forgiveness, and feel remorse, and you must not perform Hajj in the future except with a mahram. This is based on the saying of the noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 9:2565 It is agreed upon as authentic. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 9:2565 The mahram is well known: her husband, or her father, or her brother, or the like of them, those who are permanently forbidden to her due to kinship, or due to in-laws, or breastfeeding. As for the Hajj, the intended purpose was achieved, and the obligation was fulfilled, praise be to Allah.
The presenter: She says that she took advantage of her presence in the Kingdom, as she works here, so she performed Hajj, Your Eminence. It seems she is explaining the reason?
The Shaykh: That is fine. The point is that the Hajj is valid, and in the future she must not perform Hajj except with a mahram. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
