Valuing the fixed Qur'anic punishments with a monetary amount

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14445 )
Q: What is the ruling on valuing a fixed punishment established by the texts of the Qur'an and the Sunnah with a specific amount (sum of money), such as valuing the amputation of a thief's hand, so that instead of his hand being cut off, he is required to pay a specific amount (sum of money), or valuing the stoning or flogging, so that the fornicator is not stoned or flogged, but is instead required to pay a specific amount (specific sum of money)?
A : It is not permissible to value the fixed Qur'anic punishments with monetary amounts; because the fixed Qur'anic punishments are definitive, and it is not permissible to change them from what the Lawgiver has defined. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
