The first and second questions from Fatwa No. ( 6878 )
Q 1, 2: Is hashish forbidden or lawful? If it is forbidden, and my father is a partner with another of these merchants in that forbidden trade in a shop (grocery store), is it permissible for me to eat from its proceeds and take my expenses from it?
A 1, 2: It is forbidden to sell, buy, or use hashish, whether by eating, drinking, or chewing; because of the intoxication and the great harms and corruptions it contains. The prohibition of intoxicants has been reported. In Sahih Muslim and Sunan Abu Dawud, it is narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 3390Hasan (Darussalam) And from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: It is not permissible to eat from its proceeds. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
