He swore to his wife that she should take birth control pills, and if she becomes pregnant, he will divorce her

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 9044 )
Q5: A man swore by Allah to his wife that she should use birth control pills, and that if it happens that she becomes pregnant, he will divorce her .
He also has a group of sons from her, all of whom are young in age. What is the ruling and what should be done? Since he fears that divorce will occur if she disobeys the instructions.

A5: This is not considered a divorce, but rather a threat of divorce. If she does not take the pills, he must expiate for his oath and not divorce his wife. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
