Oath of divorce in a state of anger

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5388 )
Q: One day, I was angry with my colleagues and swore an oath of divorce that I would not eat with you again. Two months later, we went to Hajj and sat down and ate together. I ask you to inform me and guide me regarding this oath of mine and what is required of me, for I am in a difficult situation and confused about my affair. May Allah grant you reward and recompense.
A: If the situation is as you described regarding the anger and the oath, then if your anger was severe such that you did not know what happened to you, and the oath reached your companion who told you what happened to you, then your oath
of divorce is not considered, and no expiation is required of you. However, if your anger was not severe, in that you were aware of what you were saying and what was being said to you, then you have broken your oath by eating with them, and you owe an expiation for the oath if you intended by the oath to prevent yourself from eating with them, and did not intend by it the divorce of your wife. Otherwise, it is considered a divorce. You may take back your wife with whom you have had intercourse as long as she is in the waiting period, with two just witnesses to the taking back, provided that this divorce is not the third of three divorces. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
