The child’s illness and sleeping with me in the bed, and he passed away by morning

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16851 )
Q1: A child of mine came, and I breastfed him for 3 months. He fell ill, namely: a severe cold, according to what the doctors at the hospital said. He had very severe crying at night, and he slept with me in the bed, and by morning he had passed away, as there was nothing around him from clothing, namely the bed
or anything else, so I ask for your fatwa regarding this question of mine: what is upon me?

A1: If the situation is as described, there is no expiation upon you, because no negligence on your part that caused his death has become apparent.
Q 2: After this child, a daughter came to me, and she remained for 40 mornings. After that, I slept one of the nights and woke up at the middle of the night and breastfed her with my breast. Severe sleep came upon me, so I slept, and by morning the clothing was over her face (namely: the blanket), and she had passed away, as I found the blanket over her face and she was dead. So I ask Allah, then you, for a fatwa according to what I have mentioned. May Allah preserve you.
A: 2 If the situation is as described, the expiation is upon you, because negligence on your part occurred that caused her death. The expiation is: freeing a believing slave. If you do not find one, then fast two consecutive months as repentance to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
