Fatwa number ( 7489 )
Q: Please inform us about a person who falsely accused another of a crime against his honor and dignity, which led to his reputation being damaged in the community. If the accused person kills the one who accused him , does he bear sin, or is it considered defending his honor, as in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? Please inform us, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: It is not permissible to kill a soul for the reason mentioned, and this is not justified as defending one's honor; rather, it is an aggression against the soul. The accused person can demand that the prescribed punishment for false accusation of adultery be carried out against the accuser before the legitimate authorities.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
