Q 3: Is it permissible in the Shari'ah for a man to marry four women and give the first wife a quarter of a Saudi riyal, the second half a Saudi riyal, the third one and a half Saudi riyals, and the fourth one Saudi riyal to buy what they need?
A 3: It is permissible for a man to marry four women due to the generality of the statement of Allah the Exalted:[An-Nisa 4:3] , and this is established in the Sunnah and the Muslim community has reached consensus on it. As for the amount he pays each of them to buy what they need, it is not in the manner mentioned by the questioner; rather, he must give each one her sufficient amount in a fair manner, based on the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 1905Sahih (Al-Albani) . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

ولهن عليكـم رزقهن وكسوتهن بالمعروف
