The ruling on the financial maintenance of the wife by her husband

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: He says: She does not spend from her salary except half, and she puts the other half in the bank?
Answer: Her salary is hers, and the maintenance is upon you; the maintenance is upon the husband. If they agree that she spends some of it, there is no harm. Otherwise, the maintenance is upon the husband, and her money is hers, whether it is a salary or not. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.فَإِنْ طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ نَفْسًا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَرِيئًا
[Surat al-Nisa: 4]. If she is willing, otherwise her money is hers. He has no right to compel her, unless that is by a condition between them, such as he allowed her to work on the condition that the salary be shared between them. Muslims are bound by their conditions. But if it was not a condition in the marriage, and it was not a condition that she is working and is an employee or a teacher, and he committed to the condition, then her salary is hers and her livelihood is hers, unless she permits something out of her own free will. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
