If the daughter is pleased with the suitor but her mother rejects him, does he marry?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13938 )
Q: A suitor came to a man for his daughter, and he was a match in character and religion. My daughter was pleased with him, but the girl's mother rejected him without any reason, despite many attempts to persuade her. This suitor may not be available again in the future. So, in such a case, is it necessary to disregard the mother of the daughter, who may not accept another suitor, or should he submit to her opinion until a suitor comes whom she accepts? I hope for your guidance on this. May Allah reward you.
A: There is no harm in marrying the aforementioned daughter to the suitor whom she and her guardian have accepted, and no attention should be paid to the mother's objection. However, the mother should be treated by the daughter and her father with the best possible conduct; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When someone whose religion and character you are pleased with proposes to (someone under the care) of one of you, then marry to him. If you do not do so, then there will be turmoil (Fitnah) in the land and abounding discord (Fasad).إذا خطب إليكم من ترضون دينه وخلقه فزوجوه، إلا تفعلوا تكن فتنة في الأرض وفساد كبير

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
