Consulting a Christian Gynecologist
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 3426 )
Q3: A woman goes to a gynecologist and obstetrician who is Christian in religion. Is this permissible for her, given that there is a Muslim doctor in the same specialty?
A3: The principle is that a woman should go to a Muslim female gynecologist if one is available. If not, then to a Christian woman. If the presence of a woman is impossible and she is compelled to see a male doctor, she should go to a Muslim doctor accompanied by her guardian. If a Muslim doctor is unavailable and it is difficult to obtain one, it is permissible to go to the Christian doctor.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
