The fifth question of Fatwa number ( 10896 )
Q5: It is established in the hadith the prohibition of a woman removing her clothing outside her husband's house, so what is the intended meaning of this, and is it permissible for her to remove them in her parents' house or her relatives' house?
Vol. 5: This hadith was narrated by the Imam Ahmad and Ibn Majah and al-Hakim , from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) with the wording:Sunan Ibn Majah 3750Hasan (Darussalam) And it was narrated by Ahmad and al-Tabarani and al-Hakim and al-Bayhaqi from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) with the wording: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 39:103, and his (peace and blessings be upon him) intended meaning, and Allah knows best, is to prevent her from being lax in uncovering her clothing in a place other than her husband's house in a manner where her 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) is seen and she is suspected of intending to commit a lewd act or the like. As for removing her clothes in a safe place, such as her family's house or that of her mahram (a relative one may not marry) to change into other clothes, or to breathe and the like of permissible purposes far from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), there is no harm in that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
The permissible objectives that are far from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) — there is no harm in that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
