If a woman takes off her jilbab in her father's or sister's house, or takes it off to try on another in the shop, does the hadith apply to her?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : The hadith:
Any woman who takes off her jilbab outside her home has torn her veil before Allah أيُّما امرأةٍ خلعت جلبابها خارج بيتها ؛ فقد هتكَتْ سترها مع الله
, how do we reconcile this hadith? Is it permissible for a woman to take off her jilbab, for example?
The student : Go on.

The questioner : How do we reconcile this hadith? Is it permissible for a woman to take off the jilbab she is wearing to try on another, for example, in the fitting room of a store when she is buying, or in her father's house, for example, or in her sister's house?

The Shaykh : In a house where there is a mahram, it is permissible for her to take a bath that requires her to be completely naked. This is what is intended by the hadith: taking off the clothes is a euphemism for being naked. This is not permissible except in the house of a mahram, whether it is her father, her brother, or any of her mahrams. As for taking off her jilbab in the presence of women of her own sex, and not exposing any part of her 'awrah beyond the limits we mentioned regarding the 'awrah of a woman in front of her brother, so the same 'awrah applies in front of her Muslim sister. It is not permissible for her to expose more to her than what I mentioned earlier. As for taking off her clothes in that place where she wants to measure what she wants to buy, that is the prohibited thing that is forbidden and not permissible.

The questioner : Even if her husband is present.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Even if her husband is present?

The Shaykh : If her husband is with her, it is permissible. This was the answer given earlier.

The questioner : In the shop, if her husband is present.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : In the shop, if her husband is present.

The Shaykh : By saying, "My brother," by saying, "This is the mahram."

The questioner : Our Shaykh, I didn't notice. If I said once that there must be two conditions for this if she enters the shop, the first is that the shop is a trustworthy man.

The Shaykh : Yes, meaning there are no fitting rooms or anything like that.

The questioner : Yes, the second is that the mahram is present.

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, that is correct.
Yes.
