The second question, Fatwa number ( 15659 )
Q2: It isOne day, my wife and her mother went to one of our neighbors. When I came home from work, I entered the house and did not find them, but I knew that they were at one of the neighbors' houses. When they returned home, I asked my wife and said to her: Where were you? She said: We were at my neighbor So-and-so's house.
-I do not want to mention her name- I said: This is just visiting among neighbors. I asked her a second time and said to her: Were you in a private gathering just for yourselves? She said: No, we were in one gathering; I and my neighbor, my mother, and my neighbor's husband. I became angry when she said this to me, and I prevented her and said to her: I do not want this to happen again from you. You are specifically [forbidden] once more, and do not go to your neighbor if you are sitting in one gathering and there are men with you, whether it is your neighbor's husband or someone else. Know, O honorable Shaykh, that the hijab among us lacks the covering of the hands and feet, so these parts are not covered by women from non-mahram men. My question, O honorable Shaykh: Did I do right in this prevention, or did I err? If I erred, guide us, may you be rewarded with good?
A2: If the matter is as you described, then you are correct in preventing her from leaving your house; because of the dangers that follow from her going out in the state you described, which do not have a good outcome. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
