Does he prevent his mother from leaving the house?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 16377 )
Q1: Is it permissible for me to impose my opinion on my mother, considering that I am the head of the household, since my father has passed away and I am the eldest of the children? And do I have the right to impose anything on her, such as if she wants to go out of the house to the neighbors or relatives or others, do I prevent her, or do I not have the right to do so and leave her to do as she wishes?
A1: The father has a great right over his son in terms of respect, reverence, dutifulness, and kindness, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has commanded this and prohibited being harsh with him in word or deed. Therefore, you do not have the right to prevent your mother from going out to the neighbors and relatives, unless her going out leads to harms. In that case, it is obligatory for you to advise her with gentleness and wisdom, and to explain to her the harms of going out. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
