Taking the Virginity with the Finger
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 3627 )
Q1: The wedding with the hand drum and the wailing, taking the virginity with the finger .
A1: Announcing the marriage is required by the Shari'ah, and the wailing is ruled as singing, and removing the virginity with the finger is prohibited by the Shari'ah, and it is a bad custom; because of its contradiction of the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in removing it through intercourse, and because it involves the virgin exposing her 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) in the presence of women, and the husband doing so in their presence, and striking the hand drum at the wedding is permissible for women but not for men, and it is one of the means of announcing the marriage.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
