A man rescuing a woman from a fire or the like, when he is not her mahram
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 9497 )
Q4: If there is a woman who has been burned by fire, or has contracted a painful illness or is on the verge of death, and she has no male mahram with her, and she is in need of rescue or being taught the testimony of faith, is it permissible for a male neighbor who is not her mahram to rescue her from the fire, or take her in his car to the doctor, or teach her the testimony of faith? We know, and praise be to Allah, that the ruling is that a man is not to be alone with a woman except with a mahram, but please inform us regarding necessity, as I have mentioned to you. May Allah reward you.
A4: If the situation is as described, there is no blame on a non-mahram in rescuing her from the fire, taking her in his car to the doctor, or teaching her the testimony of faith. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
