Placing Slits at the Bottom of a Woman’s Garment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 19771 )
Q3: What is the ruling on placing slits at the bottom of a woman’s garment, whether in the back or the front, such that a part of the leg is exposed?
A3: It is not permissible for a woman to make slits at the bottom of her garment through which her legs or part of them are visible; because the woman is entirely an awrah (part of the body that must be covered), and Allah the Exalted said:
not expose their adornment except to their husbandsوَلاَ يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلاَّ لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ
[An-Nur 24:31]
the verse, in which He forbade the woman from displaying any of her adornment except to her mahram (a relative one may not marry). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
