The location of the pocket opening

Q: It is not hidden from you in this era what has been introduced in terms of customs, such as: creating a pocket opening at the back, and some of them have a belt in the middle, with the top of the garment narrow and the bottom wide. Moreover, some garments are so tight that all of one's limbs are visible, as if one were not wearing a garment. Some women claim that the scholars have issued a ruling that a woman may wear whatever adornment she wishes. Sometimes, they receive a ruling from the radio program
(Nur 'ala al-Darb) that she may wear whatever adornment she wishes for her husband, without any specification. So now, may Allah reward you with the best reward, clarify for us the way of the righteous Salaf, and what the truthful and veracious one has prescribed for us. Also, some garments, cushions, and other items contain images. Is it permissible to use them or not? Please issue a ruling, and may you be rewarded.
A: First: Clothing is among ordinary matters, and the original ruling for it is permissibility. This is not changed except by a legal proof that necessitates it. We do not know of any legal proof regarding making the pocket opening in a specific place or direction of the garment, nor regarding prohibiting the placement of what is called a zipper in this opening in any direction of the garments. What is prohibited is that the garment be tight, defining the location of the awrah (part of the body that must be covered) on the body, or be thin, revealing what is underneath, or be short, exposing the awrah or part of it, or involve imitating the clothing specific to disbelievers, or women imitating men, or men imitating women. Second: It is not permissible to adopt garments that contain images of beings with souls; due to the generality of the texts prohibiting the depiction of beings with souls and adopting them in homes, and because of the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) in a woman adopting clothing with images, especially if she leaves her home or if there are non-mahram (relatives one may not marry) in her house. As for adopting them as cushions or carpets, there is no harm in that; because of the degradation involved in them. It is established from
the hadith of Aisha and Abu Hurayrah what indicates this. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
