The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 5001 )
Q4: If there is a Muslim man who wants to hold a celebration for his marriage contract, and he will observe the separation of men and women in this celebration, is it
It is permissible to invite his sister to this gathering while she is displaying her adornment,
and his invitation to her will cause her to leave her house in this state, and it may cause her to go to the hairdresser to style her hair? Is it permissible to invite his maternal or paternal uncle's wife while she is in a state of adornment like his sister's? And if the maternal or paternal uncle will not come unless his wife comes, should he invite his wife so that he does not sever his family ties? And if he does not invite any of these people, will that be severing family ties? And if he does not agree to inviting them but his parents insist on it, will he be sinful? Because that is his right to contract his marriage?

A: If the situation of the sister mentioned is as stated, and the gathering mentioned will be as described, and if she is invited she will not adhere to the etiquettes and the Shari'ah dress, then her brother is excused for not inviting her, and it is prescribed for him to advise her and explain to her that she was left out for that reason, perhaps Allah will guide her. Likewise, he is excused for not inviting any relative who will attend in the state described, even if she is the wife of a relative of his, even if his parents request that he invite her, and she will attend in the state described, and his action in that will not be severing a family tie, and it is not prescribed for him to obey his parents in that; because obedience to them is in what is right, and this is not what is right.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
