The equivalent mahr for one who did not pay her a mahr
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 12354 )
Q1: Imarried one of my daughters and did not ask her husband for a mahr (bridal gift). After a year had passed since his marriage to her, he brought me a Toyota salon, and I had not asked him for it. I want you to clarify the Islamic ruling on this matter.
A1: There is no blame on you for taking the car from your daughter's husband. If it was a mahr, it belongs to your daughter; if it was a gift, it belongs to you. And her husband has to pay her the mahr of her equivalent if he did not pay her a mahr at the time of the marriage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
