Separating the hair from the side
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 1456 )
Q3: What is the ruling on separating the hair from the side, making it a single braid, or making it a bun? Do you mean by this adorning herself for her husband, or do you mean displaying herself in a proper appearance?
A3: As for separating the hair from the side, this involves imitating the women of the disbelievers, and it is established that imitating the disbelievers is forbidden from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). As for making it a single braid or more, and letting it hang down her back braided or unbraided, there is no harm in it as long as it is covered. As for making it a bun, it is not permissible; because of what it contains of imitating the women of the disbelievers, and imitating them is forbidden, and because of the warning of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding that, in his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 2128 narrated by Ahmad and Muslim . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance.
