Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 10823 )
Q2: Many women in Egypt put kohl in their eyes. When I tell them that it is forbidden if applied for adornment, they say to me that it is a sunnah. Is this correct?
A2: The use of kohl is prescribed, but it is not permissible for a woman to display any of her adornment, whether kohl or otherwise, to anyone other than her husband and her mahram (close relatives); because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[An-Nur 24:31] . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
