Q2: Whatis the ruling on plucking the eyebrows and the hair between them if it is thick,and is it permissible to remove the hair from the mustache and the face, and does this fall under the ruling for the eyebrows, and what is the ruling for the committed sisters who do this, and that is in order to please the husband or the society around them?
A2: It is not permissible to remove the hair of the eyebrows; because this is the plucking of the eyebrows (nams) for which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who does it, and it is from altering the creation of Allah, which is from the work of Satan. And if her husband orders her to do it, she does not obey him; because it is disobedience, and there is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to the Creator, but rather obedience is in what is good, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said. And the hair of the face is not removed except if it is disfiguring, such as if a woman grows a mustache or a beard, then there is no harm in removing them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.
