The sale of gold containing images

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of the fatwa number ( 2672 )
Q6: I am a merchant of goods, and my trade is in gold jewelry. Some of it is engraved with the image of a human or an animal. The buyers, whether male or female, do not care about the images; they care only about the gold piece itself. Yes, some may prefer jewelry engraved with an image, and others may prefer that which is not engraved. Most of these and those, if not all of them, are disbelievers by leaving off prayer, or by denying the existence of Allah, or by associating others with Him. In any case, is it permissible for me to trade in jewelry engraved with images on the grounds that most buyers do not intend the image, but rather the gold? Or is it forbidden for me absolutely, because images and image-making are forbidden? And is it permissible for me to trade in jewelry that
has the name of the Majestic and Exalted written on it, knowing that all women do not respect what is written with the name of Allah, the Majestic and Exalted; they wear it while in a state of major ritual impurity, while menstruating, and inside the toilet?

A6: Trading in jewelry that contains the image of a human or an animal is not permissible, due to the generality of the evidence forbidding image-making and hanging images, including his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allah and His Apostle made illegal the trade of alcohol, dead animals, pigs and idols.إن الله ورسوله حرم بيع الخمر والميتة والخنزير والأصنام
Sahih al-Bukhari 2236
, and the idols are: the images, whether they are depicted in the form of a human or an animal, or engraved on jewelry in the form of a human or in the form of any living being, and there is no difference in this between selling to a Muslim or a non-Muslim.
