It is not permissible to change the destinations of an endowment unless its benefits have ceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16631 )
Q: There are two agricultural plots between our farmlands. One was endowed for the poor, and the other for a mosque in the village. That is, its crop of grains or the value of its vegetables and fruits in money is distributed between these two destinations: the poor and the mosque. However, my father (may Allah have mercy on him)
built a mosque at the end of his life at his own expense. This mosque needs the endowment that is given to the mosque which has become distant. This mosque that my father built was constructed on a part of the agricultural land near the endowment. The question is: Is it permissible to divert the other endowment from the poor to any other form of charity? Please issue a ruling, may Allah guide you.

A: One must adhere to the condition of the endower and distribute the endowment to what it was designated for. It is not permissible to divert it to anything else unless its benefits have ceased. In that case, the judge should be consulted regarding it. And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
