It is not permissible for the agent to buy for himself

Fatwa number ( 16442 )
Q: If someone places land or furniture with me for sale, is it permissible for me, if the land or a piece of furniture is put up for bid, to take it for my share while I am the agent in charge of the transaction?
A: One who is appointed as an agent to sell a commodity is not permitted to buy it for himself; because it is a place of suspicion, that he may be negligent in calling out or displaying it, so to protect his goods, the agent does not buy for himself. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
