A: It is obligatory for the seller to truthfully disclose any defect in the merchandise, and it is not permissible for him to conceal the defects therein; because that is deception. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The two parties to a sale have the option to cancel it as long as they have not separated. If they disclose the defects and speak the truth, a blessing will be placed upon their sale. If they conceal the defects and lie, the blessing of their sale will be wiped out.
