Exchanging old goods for new ones with a price difference

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 15930 ):
Q1: We have a place for exchanging household appliances, where you bring in an old refrigerator or washing machine, they buy it from you, and then you buy a new refrigerator or other item from them, paying the difference. What is the ruling on this practice?
A1: There is nothing wrong with exchanging old household appliances for new ones, provided the owner of the old appliances pays an additional amount to cover the difference in value between the two types; because this is a type of sale that Allah has made lawful, and there is no harm in it, as long as it is not done through a pre-arranged agreement.
