Is it correct for me to observe the waiting period on this date, i.e., four months after the death, or not?

The questioner : I am forty years old, married, and have five children. My husband passed away on May 12, 1985 (Gregorian calendar), but I did not observe the waiting period for him due to certain tasks concerning my husband and my children. However, after four months had passed, I began observing the waiting period, i.e., on September 12, 1985. After I had completed one month of it, an incident occurred that forced me to go out. Is this month counted as part of the waiting period? And is it correct for me to observe the waiting period on this date, i.e., four months after the death? Please note that I go out within the premises of the house to attend to some tasks because I have no one to rely on for the household work. Please inform me about my situation. May Allah reward you.
The Shaykh : The answer is that this action of yours is forbidden, because it is obligatory for a woman to begin the waiting period and mourning from the moment she learns of her husband's death, and it is not permissible for her to delay doing so. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:234] Your waiting until the four months were completed and then beginning the waiting period is a sin and disobedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Only ten days are counted for you as part of the waiting period, and anything beyond that means you are not in the waiting period. You must repent to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) for what you have done, and you should increase in righteous deeds, so that perhaps Allah may forgive you. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah bless you.
