The legal conditions for the permissibility of a gift

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 17627 )
Q1: What are the legal conditions for the permissibility of a gift?
A1: The conditions for the permissibility of a gift are: 1 - Offer and acceptance. For example, the donor says, "I give you such-and-such," and the recipient says, "I accept." Any statement or action indicating this meaning carries the same ruling. 2 - It must be for a known item; it is not valid for an unknown item. 3 - It must be possible to deliver it; it is not valid for something that cannot be delivered. 4 - It must not be for a sold item before it has been taken possession of. 5 - It must not be contingent on a future condition. 6 - Justice in it, if it is for children. It is not permissible for a parent to favor one of his children with something over the others, by way of preference. 7 - It must not be intended to mean a bribe, such as gifts to workers, for example: a gift from a client to an employee, or from a student to his teacher in a regular educational institution.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
